Sustainability-minded travelers are always looking for ways to do better for the environment.
A recent study from Yellow Zebra Safaris outlines some of the most effective tips for travelers looking to reduce their carbon footprint. With many ways to operate more sustainably during travel, some of the easiest are actually the best.
According to the Yellow Zebra study, some of the most effective ways for travelers to cut down their carbon contribution are to pack ocean-friendly sun care and adhere to single-use plastic bans. Ocean-friendly sunscreen doesn’t harm the ocean and marine life. Additionally, most of this sunblock comes in zero-waste packaging.
The rest of the list offer nine tips, including staying away from plastic bottles, reducing the overall weight of your luggage and staying at smaller hotels. Choosing smaller hotels can conserve unnecessary energy waste, as hotels of any size require a certain amount of energy to run — so smaller hotels do not save all that much energy.
