High on a craggy cliff on the western coast of Paros, newly opened, adults-only LUURA CLIFF marks the launch of LUURA, a new hospitality brand born of a union between award-winning global architecture and interior design firm ELASTIC, and hospitality entrepreneurs Elie and Sophie Khouri of Vivium. Using the Cyclades as a launchpad, the design team created an inviting space comprised of whitewashed forms, pathways that wind and invite exploration, and intimate courtyards enveloped in a constant play of light and shadow.
“LUURA CLIFF is about translating the essence of the Cyclades into a contemporary architectural experience,” said Ria Xenou, principal architect and co-founder, ELASTIC. “From the beginning, our ambition was to create more than a beautiful resort. We wanted to give architectural expression to LUURA’s philosophy of authentic travel, allowing the landscape, local culture, and materiality of Paros to guide every design decision. The result is a destination that feels timeless, deeply connected to its surroundings, and uniquely reflective of the island itself.”
Interiors at the resort, including 39 one- and two-bedroom suites, were designed by Lambs and Lions, implementing a concept of “Cycladic Sanctuary” played out across the property in design features such as white cubic forms, natural materials, stone passageways, terraces and secluded spaces perfect for socializing or solo reveries. Views of the Aegean Sea add to an enduring sense of place.
“We believe the future of luxury is about seamlessly belonging – arriving somewhere and feeling like you can explore its most authentic core. Each property is built around the destination’s culture and identity. Nothing is templated,” said Sophie Khoury, founder, LUURA, and head of Hospitality, Vivium. “At our properties, every detail carries weight, and guided by curiosity, we connect travelers to experiences both within our spaces and beyond them.”
Suites have private pools and expansive outdoor spaces, while property amenities include a central pool, private chapel, event spaces and wellness offerings. For dining, there’s Mimi Kakushi, and a menu of contemporary Mediterranean choices at Lenea. Works by international, regional and Greek artists feature throughout, and guests can embark upon marble-carving workshops, private expeditions to pick capers, field-to-fork adventures, diving, windsurfing, fishing excursions and boating.

Oct 28, 2026Review: Caribe Royale Orlando
It’s truly its own universe: Caribe Royale Orlando is a sprawling property beckoning you forward with its coral pink exterior spanning many towers and buildings. The two-level lobby alone feels more like a community than a hotel lobby, with a Starbucks; access to the signature restaurant (in the midst of renovations), sports bar and gift shop; and a plethora of seating options. The bilevel layout also makes the entire space seem larger, opening up to the massive pool awaiting just behind the back doors.

Oct 23, 2026The Flight Less Taken: Unsung Carriers Whisk You Away to Far-Flung Destinations
The miracle of flight feels slightly less miraculous these days. Endless delays, cramped seating and shortchanged amenities feel par for the course, and one can easily forget the wondrous fact that you’re hurtling above planet Earth, soaring above the clouds and across the skies to your destination of choice. In the olden days, you were limited to the fallibility of your outrigger canoe or horse-drawn carriage. It’s not hyperbolic to invoke the invention of the wheel when reminding oneself to stay calm and carry on in coach.
