The Best of, a brand-new luxury event series uniting the Michelin Three-Star experience and Grammy award-winning musical acts to combat climate change, recently announced it will host its first-ever The Best of California event at Toronto’s Canadian Film Centre. The event gathers California’s top talent in Canada, Sept. 5–6. Tickets are now on sale and available starting at $6,250 per person.
The event brings the best of the Golden State to Toronto for a singular dining and entertainment experience to benefit Zero FoodPrint, winner of the James Beard Humanitarian Award. The Best of California two-day event is set before the Toronto International Film Festival and celebrates artistry across mediums, with a tasting menu presented by Kyle and Kathina Connaughton of the three-Michelin-starred and Michelin Green Star-awarded SingleThread; wine by Master Sommelier Vincent Morrow, California’s Michelin Sommelier of the Year and Sommelier Christopher Sealy, Toronto’s Michelin Sommelier of the Year; a water presentation by Water Sommelier Christina Li; and musical performances from The Beach Boys, Robby Krieger of The Doors and Lindsey Stirling. There will also be a stand-up set from Emmy-winning comedian Tiffany Haddish. Tony Hawk, skateboarding legend, is set to be Master of Ceremonies.
Zero FoodPrint funds regenerative farming and connects climate-conscious restaurants directly to sustainable farm sources.
Guests take part in a two-day event filled with noteworthy opportunities to mingle with musical and culinary talent. The event begins with an intimate Fireside Chat with Kyle and Katina Connaughton. Guests have the chance to learn more about the husband-and-wife duo and their approach to sustainable fine dining. Later, enjoy a Sip & Mingle wine tasting and gathering with Master Sommelier Vincent Morrow and Sommelier Christopher Sealy before ending with a curated dinner of their choice at Michelin-starred Alo or bosk at Shangri-La Toronto.
Wednesday begins at the picturesque Canadian Film Centre with cocktails and canapes during a Meet & Greet with all the talent, followed by a welcome address from Tony Hawk. Afterwards, enjoy a six-course tasting menu with wine pairings and world-class performances by The Beach Boys, Robby Krieger of The Doors, Lindsey Stirling and Tiffany Haddish. At the end of the night, guests have access to a star-studded afterparty at a secret location.

May 28, 2025Williamsburg Inn Review
You don’t have to love brass chandeliers or brocade to appreciate what Williamsburg Inn does best: delivering a polished, unpretentious stay amid America’s most iconic living history museum. This is where you check in for traditional luxury without feeling like you’re trapped in a time capsule. The Queen stayed here (twice), and so did Eisenhower, but you’re not here to make history. You’re here to enjoy it, on your own terms.
