When planning a trip to the Mile High City, it is a necessity to figure out how you will get around. Denver’s website has a full rundown of the best ways to get visitors in and around the city.
Public transportation should be your first option. This allows visitors to forgo the expensive option of renting a car, while maintaining the flexibility to move around the metropolitan area. The two main options for public transportation in Denver include the bus and the light rail systems. A special rail line, the Airport Rail, runs visitors and residents to the airport.
If you’re eying the bus, check out the Regional Transportation District’s website. The website helps travelers map out routes and get an idea for pricing. The organization also has a customer care line to personally help residents and visitors plan their trips. The line is staffed 6–8 p.m. on weekdays, and 9 a.m.–6 p.m. on weekends and holidays.
If you’re more of a train traveler, you can use the same website to look into routes, fares and more. Fares and stops are explained openly on the website, along with a number of alternative methods to traversing Denver.
The 16th Street MallRide is a free service tending to the retail center of Denver. The MallRide offers easy connections to trains and buses as well.
Pedi-Cabs are pedal-operated, taxi-like services. These bike-operated cabs are the perfect way to navigate on game days, Denver’s website says.
On top of all of the automated transportation options, Denver is walkable, and all major venues in the city are reachable on foot. More specific details about the aforementioned options can be found here.
