Maison Francis Kurkdjian recently announced a collaboration with Air France to serve as the airline’s first-ever signature home fragrance, named AF001. The scent is described as a celebration of the elegance of France, with calming musky notes coupled with the sunny vibrancy of mimosa from the south of France. Hints of jasmine and rose help offer a floral aura to uplift.
“I’m very proud to have created Air France’s first signature home fragrance. It was the illusion of a ray of sunshine on the wings of an aircraft that inspired me to create this light, fresh and comforting home fragrance,” said Francis Kurkdjian, perfumer and creative director, Maison Francis Kurkdjian.
AF001 sought inspiration in the Concorde flights between Paris and New York, meant to evoke the grandeur of air travel and the nostalgia of one’s first flight. The fragrance started being gradually introduced on Jan. 15, first appearing in select Air France lounges at Paris-Charles de Gaulle Airport. The scent will continue to roll out in the lobbies, lounges and La Premiére suites of key terminals before debuting in worldwide lounges in the months ahead.
Maison Francis Kurkdjian is a French fragrance house co-created by Kurkdjian and Marc Chaya, CEO. Started in 2009, each scent advocates a contemporary vision of the art of creating and wearing perfume.
