The River Lee, Cork wraps up refurbishments this season. The start of the hotel’s relaunch came with the opening of the new River Club bar and restaurant, Mirror Room and The Cocktail Bar. Other changes to come include a redesign of the lobby and the 182 guestrooms.
The new River Club boasts a double-height ceiling with wooden beams from a whiskey distillery, a mahogany bar, an Art Deco chandelier and giant windows that look out on to the river. The River Club Terrace houses tropical ferns and chases away the cold with outdoor heaters and throws.
The new Mirror Room is an event and group dining space, offering floor-to-ceiling windows and views of the River Weir. The space includes mirrored wall paneling, Italian wall tapestries, Mid-Century German chandeliers and marble-topped tables.
The new Cocktail Bar is a take on the mid-1900s, with a mahogany bar and a relaxing atmosphere in which to try some of Cork’s whiskeys.
