Lufthansa and Austrian Airlines want to give passengers the opportunity to shop while in flight once again. Shopping was restricted onboard due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and now the two Lufthansa Group passenger airlines are testing a new in-flight shopping experience via the on-board internet.
Using mobile devices, travelers can access SKYdeals shopping platform for free; at the onset of testing, passengers receive a free FlyNet Mail & Surf voucher after the sale is complete.
With one click on the online marketplace, destination, flight route and more are transmitted to SKYdeals. The Inflight Shopping Platform then offers customers a selection of products related to the destination or flight route. FLY OVER offers exclusive discounts on local products, while QUICK SALES/PRIVATE SALES boasts exclusive offers from international brands. Orders can be delivered to the customer’s address.
