Premiere luxury resort L’Auberge de Sedona debuts the Home for the Holidays experience to go with the resort’s holiday celebrations. Guests are invited to join in the festivities this year amid Arizona’s beautiful natural features like Oak Creek and Red Rocks.
The Creekside and Garden Cottages will be decked out in a winter wonderland theme, beginning with hot cocoa from a specialty chocolatier greeting guests upon arrival. Holiday accent throws and pillows will adorn the beds and seating of each cottage, along with soft flannel sheets spread across each bed. Over the fireplace will hang two stockings and a fresh wreath will grace the front doors of each cottage. No cottage will be complete without a holiday tree adorned with twinkling lights and a plate of freshly baked cookies made by the resort’s pastry chef.
L’Auberge de Sedona holds an annual holiday tradition beginning with the Tree Lighting Ceremony Dec. 5, 5–7 p.m. Accompanied by live music, snacks and drinks, guests can relax and enjoy the welcoming atmosphere of the resort. Guests wanting to further relax can visit the L’Apothecary Spa for the seasonal Chocolate Decadence treatment. This 90-minute scrub uses holiday scents, like peppermint, grapefruit, cassia and ylang-ylang, as well as a massage and wrap, all in a room scented with fir and dwarf pine to remind guests of the season and their closeness to nature. The Chocolate Decadence treatment is available starting Dec. 2.
Another one of the many holiday celebrations found at the resort is the introduction of specialty holiday menus at the acclaimed Cress on Oak Creek restaurant. For Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year’s Eve, the restaurant will offer unique dishes for these special moments. Thanksgiving at L’Auberge de Sedona entails a four-course tasting menu, with dishes like espelette chicken boudin and seared wild boar tenderloin, with additional wine pairings. Christmas feasts will be held on Christmas day as a brunch or dinner with signature dishes like sous vide breast of organic turkey and herb-crusted prime rib. To ring in the new year, the New Year’s Eve celebrations at the resort’s restaurant will include meals like bourbon-braised pork and butter-braised main lobster.

Sep 6, 2024Escape to Tahiti for a Captivating Island-Hopping Cruise
The 118 islands of French Polynesia reveal themselves layer by fascinating layer, with the spirit of mana (vital force) linking them all the way from Tahiti to the remote reaches of the Marquesas. This is part of the world best savored on a journey that dives as deep into culture as natural beauty, both above and below the water’s surface. A cruise makes it easy to cover a lot of ground while unpacking just once (and sneaking in some work done in comfort, too, during at-sea days). And cruising offers particular appeal within this semi-autonomous French territory sprawling across nearly 2 million square miles of ocean and covering five archipelagos.

Sep 4, 2024The Shelbourne Review
Facing the vast St. Stephen’s Green in the heart of Dublin sits the iconic and historic The Shelbourne. Few hotels master the perfect blend of history and luxury, but The Shelbourne gets it right. The site of the signing of the Irish Constitution in 1922 granting the Republic of Ireland its freedom from England, The Shelbourne has hosted its fair share of notable figures, from Michael Collins to Princess Grace Kelly to John Ford, the latter of which was the name of my suite.
