Kontiki Expeditions shared a look at one of the nine luxury staterooms on its new boutique yacht M/Y Kontiki Wayra. Launching in August, each stateroom creates an inviting space of comfort and beauty. The yacht follows a biophilic design, mirroring the ambiance and look of the landscapes visited and connecting people to the environment.

Ecuadorian-born interior designer María Soledad Calderón used organic, sustainable materials in the design, which honors the land and traditions of the Ecuadorian people. Hardwood teak floors, sustainably sourced cotton sheets and organic corozo closures are some of the design elements, alongside sustainable PET rugs made of recycled plastic bottles and blankets handwoven by female artisans from the Ecuadorian highlands. Works from local artists complement seashell and glass details, wood and stone paneling and greenery.

Onboard Kontiki, guests will enjoy local, freshly ground coffee from the areas visited each day and dine off of beautiful, handmade pottery. Staterooms feature libraries with books in multiple languages, bamboo accessories, scented candles and organically sourced snacks from various Ecuadorian regions. Staterooms also boast automated curtains, an integrated sound system, television with on-demand service, a hair dryer, complimentary WiFi and much more.
