KLM started offering a new service enabling customers to receive their flight information via Twitter.

Passengers can opt into the service when booking tickets or checking in online at KLM.com. Then, they’ll receive details including booking confirmation, check-in notification, boarding pass and flight status in a direct message on their Twitter account.

Notifications are available in 10 languages as well as via the Chinese social media platform WeChat.

In a statement, the carrier said, “The roll out starts today [June 6] and the service will be more widely available in the coming weeks.” Customers can also use Twitter to contact the company’s service department, available 24 hours a day.

Last year, KLM became the first airline to offer flight documents and information via Facebook Messenger.
