The famed Newt in Somerset estate invites guests to experience Gate Lodge, its newest accommodation on the 1,000-acre estate. This two-bedroom cottage mirrors the elegant sophistication and charm of the 17^th-century manor house. Once the original gatehouse to the Hadspen House, the converted lodge now provides guests with a quiet sanctuary in the countryside.

In addition to two bedrooms, each with their own bathroom, the cottage comes with a cozy living area, open-plan kitchen and high ceilings. Red velvets contrast with the subtle sage green walls, while miniature portraits hang next to oversized armoires. In the kitchen, find copper pans and neutral-colored cabinets for an airy, yet intimate feel.

Gate Lodge also includes its own private parking space, dedicated golf buggy and bikes. The buggy and bikes can be used to access the facilities at both Hadspen House and Farmyard. The cottage’s location on the estate provides easy access to the estate’s woodlands, gardens, apple orchards, cyder press, Beezantium, The Story of Gardening and the recently opened Roman Villa.

At the estate’s spa, experience garden-inspired treatments incorporating herbs and scents of an English country garden. The estate also boasts two swimming pool barns and three innovative restaurants, The Botanical Rooms, Farmyard Kitchen and Garden Café, offering seasonal garden-to-table menus.

Rates for Gate Lodge start at approximately $2,425 for two nights on a B&B basis, with a minimum two-night stay. The rate also includes access to the wider estate and a 12-month Newt Membership.
