Guests at InterContinental Hotels Group properties are on the precipice of experiencing completely new entertainment options.
The massive hotel brand just launched IHG Studio. Still in its early phases, the program is available in about 40 hotels in the United States. The technology is also expanding to China, the United Kingdom and Latin America by the end of 2019.
IHG Studio offers a host of digital entertainment options for guestrooms. A few of the functionalities include allowing guests to stream content from personal devices to TVs, make service requests like reviewing room charges and requesting extra pillows, access the TV remote from the IHG Rewards Club mobile app, order room service and pay for hotel purchases with IHG Rewards Club points.
According to Jeff Edwards, senior vice president, global hotel and owner solutions, IHG, the new system is easy to set up and requires less regular maintenance. The system is powered by IHG Connect, the brand’s WiFi system.
IHG offers nearly 5,800 hotels across 16 brands.
