Hyatt Hotels Corporation launches the Hyatt Loves Local initiative, an effort by the hotel chain to collaborate with small businesses impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. Nearly 60 Hyatt hotels and resorts worldwide provide complimentary resources and exposure to select local business struggling as a result of the pandemic.
“By always listening to our guests, members and colleagues, we understand their strong desire to not only experience the Hyatt hotels’ destinations but also to have the opportunity to support local communities,” said Amy Weinberg, senior vice president, brand loyalty, brand marketing and consumer insights, Hyatt. “We have been caring for the communities in which Hyatt hotels operate for more than 60 years, and we are proud so many Hyatt hotels around the world are finding new, creative ways to lift up beloved local businesses in this time of need through Hyatt Loves Local.”
Hyatt Loves Local collaborations span industries, from culinary and wellness to art. The partnerships will continue rolling out through fall. As part of the Change Starts Here commitment, some Hyatt Loves Local collaborations are with minority-owned businesses.
At Hyatt Regency Atlanta, the hotel provides complimentary kitchen space to Anna Bell’s Kitchen Mac & Cheese shop, as well as selling the shop’s goods in the hotel lobby market. Motif Seattle collaborates with Monorail Espresso by featuring a pop-up, MxM, in the lobby so visitors can purchase coffee growlers, beans and more. Grand Hyatt Vail hosts a pop-up shop from local women’s clothing boutique Wild Heart.
Gild Hall, a Thompson Hotel in New York City, opened its doors for concierge fitness company BACH to host on-property, socially distant workout classes. Hotel Revival Baltimore sourced its toilet paper from West Baltimore-based, female-owned Lor Tush. In Los Angeles, Andaz West Hollywood is allowing Barcode Barbershop to offer cuts and styling for men and women on the hotel’s rooftop.
Elsewhere around the globe, other collaborations are ongoing at properties, including Andaz Capital Gate Abu Dhabi, Park Hyatt Vienna, Grand Hyatt Playa del Carmen and more.

Hyatt Regency Coconut Point Resort & Spa is an award-winning resort on Coconut Road in Bonita Springs, Florida, on the Gulf Coast between Naples and Fort Myers. The property, with 26 acres of tropical landscaping, multiple water slides and numerous dining venues, is a beautiful resort. Last month, I brought my 13-year-old grandson to the property for two days of water-sliding in balmy mid-December weather.
