Decorated throughout with murals reflecting Hattiesburg’s railroad and timber industry heritage, the new Hotel Indigo-Hattiesburg is located a short walk from both the University of Southern Mississippi and The All American Rose Garden. The boutique, five-story property has 100 rooms and suites, including an Executive Club Level. The décor is industrial chic, and — like all properties within the Hotel Indigo brand — takes the history of its setting seriously. Hattiesburg’s designation as Hub City plays out in steel bracing, yellow pine, lighting details that suggest train tunnel lighting, and upholstery elements that make a nod to historic train conductor uniforms. Each room boasts its own unique design details, and is watched over by its own figure of a golden eagle in tribute to USM’s official winged mascot.

Hungry guests head to the Brass Hat on the lobby level, where the locally-sourced menu includes a selection of local Southern favorites, tapas and small plates in a space designed to suggest a 1930s railroad dining car.
