Hong Kong Airlines announced the arrival of its first Airbus A350 aircraft, as well as the opening of its brand-new VIP lounge, Club Autus, at Hong Kong International Airport.
The expansion of its fleet and enhancement of customer service marks new milestones for Hong Kong Airlines in its efforts to move toward international expansion.
Zhang Kui, co-chairman, Hong Kong Airlines, said, “Since its establishment in 2006, HKA has been advancing side by side with the people of Hong Kong. With our business continuing to grow, we have reached a turning point which is steering us toward the goal of becoming a global carrier.”
With more A350s scheduled for delivery in the future, the airline will capitalize on the aircraft’s long-haul capability and Hong Kong’s geographic advantages to accelerate international expansion. Particular emphasis will be placed on routes to major European cities and North American cities, including San Francisco and New York.
The airline introduced its first of 21 A350 aircraft into service Sept. 10 with a flight to Bangkok (DMK). Following this debut, the aircraft will service flights to other regional destinations including Taipei (TPE) and Shanghai (PVG) before its assignment to the newly launched Hong Kong (HKG)–Los Angeles (LAX) route Dec. 18.
