It’s relaunch time: Hollywood VOLUME (formerly known as tommie Hollywood) joined Marriott International’s Tribute Portfolio and is ready for its close-up. The relaunch, which provides access to Marriott’s Bonvoy program, builds on the hotel’s location in Hollywood’s Vinyl District with hosted pop-up parties, Tuesday and Thursday social hours with complimentary canapés served in the lobby, and revolving art installations featuring local creators.

“We are thrilled to join forces with Marriott’s fastest growing full-service brand, Tribute Portfolio. The strategic decision allows us to further showcase the unique lifestyle experience of this property, all while continuing to elevate the overall guest experience,” said Eric Rosenthal, managing partner, Machine Investment Group.

Rooms designed by Studio Collective include 212 guest spaces and one-bedroom suites with hardwood floors, floor-to-ceiling windows and expansive views of the city or Hollywood Hills. Suites, on the top floor, feature separate living rooms and 12-foot ceilings. Décor is an inviting blend of earth tones, natural materials, rich textures and elegant dashes of Mid-Century Modern design.

For dining, enjoy a menu of Yucatan-inspired fare by Chef Wes Avila of Guerilla Tacos at KA’TEEN, where the interior design visually transports guests to the jungles of Tulum.

Each week, diners can indulge in a culinary lineup that includes weekend brunch, Live Music Thursdays, and Tacos & Tequila. On the roof, popular Desert 5 Spot bar and pool — reminiscent of the area’s Wild West Pioneertown filming location — welcomes guests with live music and weekly events including line dancing, two-stepping and cowboy karaoke.

Now’s the Time to See Giza, the Nile and Beyond

All archaeology-obsessed eyes turned hopefully toward Egypt earlier this year when the highly anticipated Grand Egyptian Museum outside Cairo finally began welcoming visitors after construction delays, funding roadblocks and political upheaval in the region (among other factors) conspired to keep things delayed for many long years. The museum’s cherry on the top is slated to open this summer, with the July opening of the museum’s 20-plus-years-in-the-making Tutankhamen galleries and accompanying cache of some 5,000 artifacts and treasures from the boy king’s tomb.
