Set within Arizona’s stunning Sonoran Desert, the beloved historic Rancho de los Caballeros Resort has wrapped up its multi-year, $100 million renovations. Selected to host the 2027 edition of the annual Dude Ranchers’ Association convention, the 75-year-old, 18,000-plus acre property continues its celebration of Spanish Caballeros culture with newly imagined luxury spaces that include Wickenburg Suites, an outdoor pool complex and full-service spa.
“We looked closely at how our guests use the ranch and where we could make it even better,” said George McGann, managing director, Rancho de los Caballeros Resort. “From more spacious accommodations to new places to gather and unwind, these additions allow us to better serve returning families while welcoming first-time visitors. It’s an investment in the future of the ranch, one that strengthens what we offer without changing what makes this place special.”
A central campus centered around Quarter Horse Terrace, marked by a fabulous equine sculpture, fire pit, outdoor patio and entertainment space, affords easy access to the Main Lodge, Los Cab Saloon and The Main Dining Room. At the outdoor pool complex, guests can relax at two resort-style pools: one featuring underwater music and fountains, the other an infinity-edge hydrotherapy pool with therapeutic jets. This space is framed by desert trees, mature saguaros and other native flora of the Sonoran Desert. An on-site bar and grill means drinks and casual bites are never far away.
Lodging enhancements include brand-new Wickenburg Suites, with four stand-alone, two-bedroom casitas. Design features include floor-to-ceiling, hand-plastered fireplaces; kitchenettes; and open-concept living rooms. Each casita is backed by two lock-off accommodations with a separate king and two-queen room that can be combined to create a four-bedroom casita.
Under the direction of resort master planner TAG Studio, architecture for the new suites was by Conk Architecture, with interior design by Hasbrook Interiors and construction by RJ Gurley Construction.
There’s a menu of fine dining at 19, where gorgeous views and a 2,000-bottle wine cellar add to the experience (save room for the black cocoa tart); relaxation options abound. Guests can explore the landscape on horseback, take part in ranch riding activities such as penning, roping and barrel racing; play a game of tennis or pickleball; reserve a round at Los Caballeros Golf Club; or hone their archery and shooting skills. At the full-service Spa at Los Caballeros, guests can take advantage of wellness therapies and soothing treatments, including Los Cab Salt Scrub, Sun C Wellness signature massage, CBD pedicure, Hassayampa Hot Stone therapy and reflexology.
