Hilton received 22 honors from U.S. News & World Report this year, with three of their properties receiving new awards for Best Hotels in the USA and 19 of their properties receiving awards for Best Hotel within their market.

Six Senses Kocataş Mansions opened late last month along the Bosphorus Strait. The property is housed within two restored, Ottoman-era mansions in Istanbul. The resort’s urban decor incorporates architectural features and artifacts from the mansions.

WorldHotels is slated to introduce a new property in Peru this January: Casa Andina Premium San Isidro is set to open early next year. The Lima-bound property is the brand’s first in Peru. The 16-floor hotel houses 157 guestrooms, a gym, spa, swimming pool and rooftop terrace. The on-site restaurant, La Plaza Bar and Grill, uses local ingredients and rich traditions to serve delicious options.
In response to climate change, Germany’s Christian Democrats proposed doubling taxes on domestic flights to reduce CO2 emissions. The plan would exempt connecting flights (part of long-haul trips) so the impact would only be on the current tax of $8.10 per ticket for domestic flights.
