H+I Adventures, a company specializing in cultural mountain biking trips, added a New Zealand package to its offerings. The tour cycles through the country’s South Island, known for its high mountains, glaciers, hot springs and wild coastline.
The company rolls out its first New Zealand trip Jan. 25, 2016. The tour spans 13 days and is available for booking now.
“Travelers on our newest mountain biking holiday will storm the South Island and discover the local’s favorite trails and wilderness escapes,” said Euan Wilson, director, H+I Adventures. “We’ve custom designed the trip with our Kiwi guides to feature the country’s best riding spots and some South Island secrets that are not to be missed both on and off the bike.”
The New Zealand trip begins in Christchurch and ends in Queenstown, passing through stunning backcountry areas. In the evenings, cultural activities are available, as are soaks in hot springs, beach trips, whale and dolphin watching, hiking Mount Cook, local beer tasting and more. Accommodations are included and range from boutique hotels to farm stations to mountain huts so remote the luggage is helicoptered in.
