YARDLEY, PA, September 8, 2008 – Global Traveler magazine, the only independent periodical dedicated to the frequent business and luxury traveler announced today plans to launch eFlyer-Asia, an e-newsletter targeted toward the Asian market.
eFlyer-Asia will debut the week of Sept. 8 as a weekly e-newsletter written for business and luxury travelers in Asia. The geographic and editorial content of the newsletter will have a pan-Asian focus. Each issue will feature a lead news story, followed by several news briefs, travel deals and an airline, hotel or restaurant review.
“I was shocked to find out that Asia does not have a Web site or a weekly e-newsletter for the business traveler,” said Francis X. Gallagher, CEO of eFlyer-Asia’s parent company, FXExpress Publications, Inc. “We believe the Asian market will benefit from an informative and valuable resource like our newsletter.”
Hong Kong-based journalist Joyce Woo Yan will write and edit the newsletter. Woo Yan, who previously worked at The Standard and as a book editor in Hong Kong, brings a wealth of experience to the launch.
eFlyer-Asia’s opted-in subscriber base of more than 5,000 international business travelers comprises a group that makes an average of 26 round-trip flights each year, 40 percent of whom fly international first class while the remaining 60 percent are frequent business-class passengers; three quarters of the readership routinely selects 5-star accommodations. The average annual income of eFlyer-Asia’s target audience is in excess of $200,000.
