The Distillery, a boutique hotel dedicated to gin, opened on London’s Portobello Road.

Located in a former pub, the hotel dedicates four floors to gin, featuring two bars, a gin museum and a gin experience center, an off-license shop, a 400-liter gin still, a private dining room and three guestrooms.

“Not only does the new distillery mean we can continue to produce our product on Portobello Road, it has allowed us to expand our hugely successful gin-making experience, The Ginstitute, which had outgrown its original venue,” said Ged Feltham, founder, Portobello Road Gin and The Distillery. “The most exciting parts of the project are the new and unexpected opportunities that have come with a development of this size and scale. We are proud purveyors of London spirit and we look forward to exciting guests from around the globe with amazing gin and other wonderful new distillates and aged spirits.”

Resting Room, the property’s ground-floor pub, serves spirits distilled on site like a variety of unique blends from avocado to olive oil vodka. Classic drinks and cocktails are also made available along with various international spirits served from hand-made barrels suspended from the ceiling.

GinTonica, the Spanish-themed bar and kitchen on the first floor, offers a menu created by head chef Greg Lewis. The restaurant is a nod to the traditional Spanish Copa de Balon-shaped glass.

The Ginstitute allows guests to make their own gin and takes people through a 300-year history of the spirit.
