Mary Poppins is back in town, thanks to the release of the new Walt Disney Studios’ film Mary Poppins Returns, starring British actress Emily Blunt and featuring original cast member Dick Van Dyke.

At The Milestone Hotel across from Kensington Gardens in London, guests can enjoy a Practically Perfect escape, with a range of activities centered on the magical story that includes the Spoonful of Sugar Afternoon Tea for two. The sweetly themed tea features a chocolate pastry  shaped like the floral hat worn by Mary Poppins, a black chimney sweep macaron, a cupcake  delivered with a chocolate spoon(ful of sugar) and a selection of other delightful treats. For children, there are biscuits shaped liked kites and iced with cherry ganache; adults can indulge in the new Little Nip for Every Sip cocktail, blended from muddled raspberries, peach liqueur, peach purée, orange juice and ginger ale. Children are offered a Most Delightful Way, a non-alcoholic version of the cocktail served in a medicine bottle a la the Mary Poppins story.

Children guests receive a “silver” chocolate tuppence upon arrival, exchangeable for a bird feeding kit from the hotel’s concierge team — which can be put to good use feeding ducks in nearby Hyde Park. There’s also the opportunity (weather-dependent) to fly a kite in Kensington Gardens’ Italian Garden. Guests taking part in the themed stay are gifted with a red carnation buttonhole like that worn by the character of Mr. Banks (staff also sport a red carnation pinned to their lapels as a signature of the award-winning hotel’s membership in the exclusive Red Carnation Hotel Collection). Available until Jan. 31, the Practically Perfect getaway begins at £540 (approx. $696) per night, based on double occupancy in a classic double room. Full English breakfast is included. Non-guests may also book reservations for the afternoon tea.
