The Dali Museum in St. Petersburg, Fla., welcomes Frida Kahlo at the Dali from Dec. 17–April 17, 2017. The indoor-outdoor exhibition features more than 60 of Kahlo’s works, including paintings, drawings and personal photos. In the museum garden, plants and flowers will reflect those found in Kahlo’s private gardens at Casa Azul, her Mexican home.

Programs connected to this exhibition range from Mexican cooking demonstrations to journaling and gardening, all favored hobbies of Kahlo. Categorized as a Surrealist (a term she personally rejected), Kahlo’s works explore themes of love, suffering and beauty. Like Dali, Kahlo created a quirky artistic persona she is still largely identified with. Don’t miss the museum’s permanent collection, which houses more than 2,000 works by Dali covering the full spectrum of his creative life: prints, photographs, objects, paintings, book illustrations and works on paper.
