The current Sheraton Fort Lauderdale Airport & Cruise Port Hotel will be closing in June to become the new Le Méridien Fort Lauderdale Airport. The new hotel will debut in the third quarter of 2017, after a $30 million renovation.
“Le Méridien Fort Lauderdale Airport will help to meet rising demand for high-quality lodging within close proximity of the airport, Broward Country Convention Center and the downtown business district and will also serve the growing need for meeting rooms and event facilities for tenants of our corporate center,” said Charles S. Cohen, president and CEO, Cohen Brothers Realty Corp.
After renovations, the property will boast 245 modern guestrooms and suites with floor-to-ceiling windows. The two on-site restaurants will include one with an open-kitchen concept, in addition to the brand’s Latitude Bar. The Le Méridien Hub will replace the traditional lobby, creating a relaxed space for arrivals and casual socialization. There will be an expanded fitness center, renovated pool and 20,000 square feet of meeting space.
