Emerald Waterways gives foodies and wine connoisseurs an in-depth look at France’s Burgundy and Provence regions through its new Flavors of Burgundy and Provence itinerary, which sails round-trip from Lyon starting July 2020.
The one-of-a-kind, immersive itinerary includes daily excursions to key spots in France’s culinary heritage, showing guests how their favorite bites are created, from ingredient to final product. Guests meet truffle farmers in the village of Tournus before indulging in a truffle tasting, and shop among more than 60 vendors at the famed Lyon food hall Les Halles de Lyon.
In the Beaujolais province, travelers tour wine estates and taste ancient grape varieties. In the Châteauneuf-du-Pape region, participants learn traditional winemaking techniques as they sample wine estates’ best pours. All the while, guests are accompanied by culinary experts.
And, if you feel like you need to work off all that culinary goodness, the cruise also gives guests opportunities to get your blood pumping with walking tours, hikes and guided bike tours.
Book your spot on one of the four Flavors of Burgundy and Provence cruises departing in 2020 before Aug. 30, and receive free or reduced airfare depending on stateroom selection.
Guests who book a suite on the Horizon or Vista decks receive free, round-trip airfare to France. Guests in Riviera deck staterooms receive round-trip airfare for $395. In lieu of airfare, guests may choose to receive a booking discount of up to $1,000.
Guests who pay for their sailing in full by Aug. 15 receive an additional up to $500 per person off itineraries of 15 days or more.
