Seattle-Tacoma International Airport’s North Satellite, nearing its fifth decade of service, has been fully modernized, adding new gates, open space, natural light and more restaurants and shops. The upgraded area also features Pacific Northwest-inspired art and sustainability features including collected rainfall.
Following the opening of the two first gates, by the end of June, SEA-TAC passengers will have access to 10 more gates and the Marketplace at N, with a stage for live performances and open seating with views of the airfield. Additional dining and retail options will also be unveiled.
“The updated North Satellite is going to come as a surprise to long-time travelers. What was once dimly lit with low ceilings and few options is now bright, spacious, and welcoming,” said Ryan Calkins, commissioner, Port of Seattle. “It’s so nice that you might arrive a little early to enjoy the art, food, and other amenities. And the whole experience celebrates the Pacific Northwest and our spectacular surroundings.”
