Finnair announced its intent to join the trans-Atlantic joint venture business of American Airlines, British Airways and Iberia. The airlines are all members of the oneworld alliance (oneworld.com); the joint venture business partnership between the three airlines started October 2010.
Finnair will join later this year, offering North American and European travelers more flight options, enhanced services and increased connections. Finnair will add its code to select AA, BA and Iberia flights; Finnair’s code will be added to select routes in the three other networks. The joint business will operate around 102 round-trip flights between the two continents.
Other customer benefits include reciprocal frequent-flyer benefits, coordinated schedules and dedicated support teams at airport hubs.
