Finnair plans to add four new short-haul routes from its hub in Helsinki (HEL) to its summer 2017 schedule. Between April 11 and Oct. 28, 2017, the airline will fly four times weekly to Reykjavik (RKV), Iceland’s capital city. This route will complement Finnair’s existing codeshare with Icelandair and offer one of the fastest connections between Asia and Iceland. Finnair will fly to Corfu (CFU) in Greece and Menorca (MAH) in Spain on Sundays during the 2017 summer season. From June 17 to Aug. 12, 2017, a new weekly flight to Ibiza (IBZ) will depart on Saturdays. Capacity to the United Kingdom will increase during summer 2017, with flights to Edinburgh (EDI) increased to five times weekly. The morning flights to and from London will operate on state-of-the-art Airbus A350 aircraft during this time. On March 27, Finnair will fly up to nine weekly flights to Dublin (DUB). Finnair announced service to Västerås (VST) in central Sweden with a codeshare on a NextJet route from Helsinki, starting Sept. 15. The route is Finnair’s fifth in Sweden, operated with three return flights on weekdays, one on Saturday and two on Sunday. “Reykjavik is a fantastic tourist destination and we are very pleased to be able to offer this exciting route to our customers as well as the additional weekly frequencies to other great summer destinations,” said Juha Järvinen, chief commercial officer, Finnair. “All in all, these announcements fit in very nicely with our growth strategy and we are confident our customers will be very happy with these new additions.”

Apr 17, 2024Amansara Review
It was more than a car journey; it was a transition between worlds. At our first hotel in Siem Reap, huge coaches constantly pulled up outside the lobby to deposit or receive international tour groups; we departed in very different style, in a 1965 black Mercedes limousine once owned by King Sihanouk. The mundanities of mass tourism were left behind. We progressed through the chaotic Cambodian streets in regal comfort and soon arrived at a solid gate.
