This year’s Art Basel Miami Beach (Dec. 1–4) will reverberate with sound art installations featuring Art Basel Official Audio Partner and audio specialists Sennheiser. Among Sennheiser’s hosted events are Soundclash with German sound artist Nik Nowak at Gramps, a Wynwood area club. Nowak will face off with Miami Bass legend Neil Case (aka Bass Mekanik) as part of Sennheiser’s Future Audio Artists Program. During the performance, Nowak will pilot his Sound Tank, a mobile, 4,000-watt subwoofer sound system sculpture.

During Art Talk with Nowak Dec. 2, “sound in art” will be the discussion point, involving influential members of the art world including Daniela Hinrichs and Dr. h. c. Walter Smerling, both of whom are members of the Future Audio Artists Program. Video installations by Nowak, Nigel Stanford and other sound artists will be on view at the Future Sound Cube, a purpose-dedicated venue for Sennheiser Listening Experiences and audiovisual artworks. Located in the Sennheiser Lounge in Art Basel’s Collectors Lounge, the space is also where guests can have a personal encounter with AMBEO, Sennheiser’s 3-D Immersive Audio Technology, which provides a spatial dimension to sound that allows the listener to be completely immersed in the audio experience.
