Expo 2020 Dubai announced it is ready to fully open its doors to the world later this year, after safely and successfully welcoming more than 100,000 visitors to experience “Terra – The Sustainability Pavilion.” Jan. 22–April 10, the limited-time showcase allowed the U.A.E. community to preview one of the expo’s signature visitor experiences, offering a look at what is to come when the first World Expo in the Middle East, Africa and South Asia region welcomes visitors Oct. 1, 2021–March 31, 2022.

During the preview, several health and safety best practices were incorporated, including social distancing, capacity controls and on-site rapid testing. According to Expo 2020’s Pavilions Premiere Satisfaction Survey, guests ranked the precautions above eight on a scale of one to nine. Visitors were also impressed with the service and cleanliness of Expo Rider, a dedicated, free-of-charge, public bus service.
