Passengers at Helsinki Airport can now find peace and privacy amidst a hectic airport in GoSleep sleeping pods. Helsinki Airport becomes the first European airport to offer the sleeping pods, a Finnish innovation featuring an ergonomic seat that can be turned into a bed. Passengers can stow hand luggage under the seat, charge electronic devices and pull a cover up to isolate themselves from light and noise.
“We wish to provide passengers with an opportunity for stress-free travel and a nap between flights. Helsinki Airport has many transit passengers, who may not have had any sleep for a day or are suffering from jet lag. I believe that the service will have genuine demand,” says Heikki Koski, vice president at Finavia, Helsinki Airport.
Helsinki Airport currently has 19 GoSleeping sleeping pods, available at gates 18 and 38. Pillows and blankets are also available.
