Etihad Airways moved to an all Airbus A380 service on its Abu Dhabi (AUH)–New York (JFK) route. The carrier operates a twice-daily service between the two destinations, with one operated by the superjumbo and the other by a Boeing 777-300ER aircraft.

The service now utilizes Etihad’s A380, which features a four-class economy, business, first and The Residence offering. JFK is the third Etihad route to become all A380, joining London (LHR) and Sydney (SYD), since the end of October. The airline will add the A380 to one of its two daily Paris services this summer.

“The response we have received from our guests traveling between Abu Dhabi and New York since we first launched the A380 service two years ago has been phenomenal. We are delighted to further expand our world-leading product to all guests flying to and from the Big Apple,” said Peter Baumgartner, chief executive officer, Etihad Airways. “By introducing the A380 on the second daily service, we can ensure that every flight delivers the acclaimed service and hospitality, innovative products and technology for which we have become known the world over.”

The carrier launched its first, daily, non-stop service to New York JFK October 2006, before moving it to twice daily March 2014. The A380 began servicing the route November 2015.
