Etihad Airways and Air France are expanding their codeshare agreement this summer to include destinations in Africa, Asia, Australia and Europe. Etihad currently codeshares on Air France flights to Bordeaux (BOD), Copenhagen (CPH), Madrid (MAD), Nice (NCE) and Toulouse (TLS) and will place its EY code on flights from Paris (CDG) to Oslo (OSL) and Stockholm (ARN). The carrier also plans to codeshare on flights between Paris and Lisbon (LIS) and Marseille (MRS), subject to regulatory approval.
Air France currently codeshares on Etihad flights between Paris and Abu Dhabi (AUH); Colombo, Sri Lanka (CMB); Seychelles International Airport (SEZ) on the island of Mahé; and Malé International Airport (MLE) in the Maldives. The airline will put its AF code on daily Etihad flights between Abu Dhabi and Melbourne (MEL), Sydney (SYD) and Khartoum, Sudan (KRT) and services between Singapore (SIN) and Brisbane (BNE). Subject to regulatory approval, the airline also expects to codeshare on Etihad’s route between Abu Dhabi and Kathmandu, Nepal (KTM). Etihad, currently operating 43 codeshares with other carriers, recently announced codeshares with Air Canada, Air Seychelles and an agreement to take a 24 percent share in Indian carrier Jet Airways.
