Emirates will increase frequencies to the United States for the first time since reducing service on five of its 12 U.S. routes last April amid Trump administration policies.
“Demand is back up,” said Matthias Schmid, vice president of North American sales, Emirates. “We see very, very strong demand, and we are again in a position to manage some moderate growth in the U.S. network.”
Beginning March 25, Emirates will increase frequencies on its Dubai (DXB)–Fort Lauderdale (FLL) and Dubai–Orlando (MCO) route from five times per week to daily. On June 1, the carrier will upgrade its Houston (IAH) route to an Airbus A380 jumbo jet to accommodate more passengers.
In other news, Emirates unveiled a brand-new, more spacious business-class cabin and configuration on its Boeing 777-200LR aircraft — now operating on the Fort Lauderdale route. The airline invested more than $150 million to refurbish the existing 777-200LR aircraft in its fleet. The new design includes a two-class configuration with 38 business-class seats and 264 seats in economy.
