Fall season in the Colorado Rockies includes stunning displays of golden fluttering aspens, distant snow-tipped peaks and sparkling blue skies. If you want to get out on those waters, whitewater rafting is at its best this time of year. Race through Glenwood Canyon with skilled local guides, then celebrate your run (and dry off) at one of the area’s local craft breweries, including the Glenwood Canyon Brewing Company or Casey Brewing & Blending. Wrap up your autumn stay with a guided tours of the nearby Fairy Caves, named in 1896 by C.W. Darrow.
