Hand-built of iron and teak using traditional boat building practices (and steeped in luxury), Prana by Atzaro — a traditional sailing vessel known as a phinisi — can comfortably accommodate up to 18 people in nine sumptuous stateroom suites. Experience this unique sailing experience yourself on board the stunning yacht during a new seven-night, eight-day Whale Sharks and Dragons Expedition.

Along with fine dining, spa treatments, diving expeditions and boundless water sports, guests can expect to enjoy the white-sand beaches of Sabayor Kecil and cocktails on the upper deck as the sun sets and the yacht departs for Pulau Rinca. Visit Komodo dragons while guided by professional rangers, and catch sightings of other island wildlife such as monkeys and water buffalo. Dive or snorkel at Takat Makassar, Batu Bolong or Siaba Besar, home to mantas, sharks, turtles and schools of fish. Sail south to Pulau Padar while stargazing or relishing a massage treatment.

Hike to the top of Padar Island and dive at Secret Garden, Pillarsteen or 3 Sisters to view camouflaged shrimp, sea apples and nudibranchs. Sleep while anchored at Gili Lawa Bay, and begin the morning with a deck-side yoga session and breakfast before setting off to snorkel among the coral gardens of Gili Lawa Darat and Gili Lawa Laut. Take in views of the active Sangeang Volcano before sailing to Sangeang Api’s northern tip to snorkel or dive at Bubble Reef and Deep Purple. At Bontoh village, activity options include a visit to a traditional phinisi boat-building community. There’s plenty more, including treks to the crater lake on Satonda Island, reef diving and spotting endangered whale sharks as they feed at sunrise, plus a visit to Mata Jitu waterfalls.

Sailings aboard Prana by Atzaró are seasonal so the vessel can follow routes along calm areas of the world’s seas. Among other available experiences are voyages to Komodo National Park (from May to October), the Spice Islands (November and May) and Raja Ampat (from December to April). All-inclusive pricing covers meals, snacks, soft drinks, local beers and wines, laundry and internet services, water sports, diving and excursion fees, and a complimentary half-hour massage or beauty therapy.
