Thailand-based hotel group, Dusit, announced a massive transformation project for its flagship property in downtown Bangkok.
The $1 billion agreement with the Crown Property Bureau will include development of new facilities such as a shopping mall, residences and a park on land adjacent to the hotel.
“This project will build on our unique Thai heritage, combined with international standards, while utilising space in the area to its full potential. It will be a new icon of Bangkok’s new era the same way the iconic Dusit Thani Bangkok made history 47 years ago,” said Suphajee Suthumpun, CEO, Dusit.
The property is currently located in the Silom area of the city, opposite Lumphini Park and near the city’s sky train and MRT stations. As one of the city’s top hotels for nearly half a century, the final plans for the new project are highly anticipated.
