Passengers flying to the United States from Dublin (DUB) now enjoy a new lounge. The lounge, 51^st&Green, is located after U.S. Preclearance in Terminal 2. It is open to all business-class Aer Lingus, Delta Air Lines, United Airlines and American Airlines passengers. An airline club membership is required. “We are delighted to have this post-U.S. Preclearance lounge open for passengers, which is unique as Dublin is the only airport outside of North America to offer a lounge facility once the necessary Preclearance checks are completed,” said Vincent Harrison, managing director, Dublin Airport. “With four airlines currently flying 276 times to and from 11 destinations in the United States on a weekly basis, an average of almost 40 return flights daily, Dublin Airport now ranks fifth among E.U. airports for route frequency to North America. We have surpassed Madrid (MAD) and only Heathrow (LHR), Paris (CDG), Frankfurt (FRA) and Amsterdam (AMS) are ahead of Dublin.” Last year, more than 1 million passengers used the U.S. Preclearance facility at the airport. Overall passenger numbers at the airport exceeded 13 million during the first half of 2016, a 1.5 million increase over the previous year. The more than 2,500-square-foot lounge seats 180 passengers near runways 34 and 28 with views of the airfield. It offers various zones for relaxing, work and entertainment. Dining, concierge service, luxury shower facilities, printing facilities and a private area for Platinum Service customers are available.
