Dollar and Thrifty car rental companies, both part of The Hertz Corporation, will lower the minimum age requirement for renting a car from 21 to 20 years old in the United States and Canada. The age remains 18 for renters in Michigan, New York and the province of Quebec, as required by law.

Dollar and Thrifty hope to attract younger renters.
