Holidays at the Disneyland Resort launched last month, inviting friends and family to create magical holiday memories together. Guests have the opportunity to discover the new Festival of Holidays featuring music, dance, food and festivities inspired by cultural traditions from around the world.
The World of Color, Season of Light is also a new addition this year. This nighttime water spectacular inspires guests with cherished holiday music and Disney animation, fun for the whole family. The production creates a sparkling winter fantasy with magical storytelling, lights, lasers, projectors and fountains that shoot as high as 200 feet to create giant screens of water.
Guests can celebrate with annual traditions by visiting the parks for Disney-themed treats, snowfall on Main Street U.S.A., décor and holiday entertainment. Santa Claus arrives in a fun, new location at Disney California Adventure Park, Redwood Creek Challenge Trail. It has been completely transformed by the elves into a magical playground of holiday fun and games. The daily lineup of entertainment includes nearly 50 performances of nine unique shows with Disney characters, street parties, musical ensembles and dance performances. The celebrations include Diwali, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, Christmas/Navidad and Three Kings Day. The 50-foot Christmas tree draws guests into the holiday magic along Buena Vista Street.
Guests at Disneyland Park will enjoy one-of-a-kind transformations on infamous rides: It’s a Small World into It’s a Small World Holiday; Jungle Cruise into Jingle Cruise; and Haunted Mansion into Haunted Mansion Holiday. Twinkling lights, holiday garland and 1,800 ornaments decorate the Christmas tree in Town Square, Main Street, U.S.A.
Downtown Disney shopping, dining and entertainment and the hotels of the Disneyland Resort join in the holiday festivities with lights, ornaments and holiday displays. One of the highlights includes the gingerbread house located in the lobby of Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel and Spa, standing at 7 feet, 6 inches tall and 12 feet wide. Be sure to purchase cider, snacks and hot chocolate sold in a gingerbread house window.
