Walt Disney World and Disneyland have big plans for travelers this summer, including the debut of two new spectacular attractions.
Beginning May 27, The World of Avatar at Disney World and Guardians of the Galaxy-Mission: BREAKOUT! at Disneyland will officially open to the public. In addition to the new Disneyland attraction, the Fantasmic! Show, Disneyland Railroad and Rivers of America attractions all re-open this summer, and the Main Street Electrical Parade will extend through Aug. 20.
“In the United States and around the world, Disney parks are making new magic for our guests,” said Bob Chapek, chairman, Walt Disney Parks and Resorts. “With an irreverent and rockin’ new attraction at Disneyland Resort and an entire never-before-seen world at Walt Disney World Resort opening this May, there are fantastic experiences in store for our guests. Starting this summer they will be able to step into the world of their favorite stories and characters like never before.”
Guests at the California theme park will be able to step into the Star Wars Launch Bay attraction and enjoy the Summer of Heroes festivities, which includes Groot, Captain America and Spiderman. On May 26, the Disney Junior Dance party will debut at Disneyland, bringing children face to face with characters from Disney Junior TV shows.
Besides the opening of the World of Avatar in Disney World, a new nighttime Rivers of Light show, a Music of Pixar LIVE! Spectacular, the opening of Star Wars Launch Bay, the introduction of the Miss Adventure Falls family-friendly raft adventure and the May 12 opening of the Happily Ever After fireworks display will supplement the attraction.
