Later this year, Delta Air Lines will expand its route network in four western U.S. cities: Los Angeles (LAX), Austin (AUS), San Francisco (SFO) and Salt Lake City (SLC). The airline will fly to those cities starting in late 2019 and early 2020, with its new Airbus A220.
Delta will also begin flying its A220 on a route between Los Angeles and Austin Dec. 21, as well as its Los Angeles to Seattle (SEA) route.
Ticket prices for the San Francisco to Salt Lake City route are expected to run as low as $78 for economy and $222 for first class. Passengers on the San Francisco to Seattle route will see prices like $71 for basic economy and $160 for first class.
Delta will be the first operator in North America to start flying commercial routes on the A220. Internationally, Lufthansa Group, Korean Air and airBaltic all accepted deliveries of the A220.
For Delta, the plane will have 109 seats: 12 seats in first class, 15 in Delta Comfort+ and 82 seats in the main cabin. Amenities for travelers include Gogo2Ku WiFi, personal power ports at each seat, wide seats, extra-large seats, ambient lighting and seat-back entertainment screens.
