With the vaccine rolling out and continuing to make its way across the country, more and more popular travel destinations are starting to open to vaccinated American travelers. The first one to start welcoming Americans back is Iceland, and Delta Air Lines is making it easier for travelers to get there.
Beginning in May, Delta customers looking for an international escape can enjoy a non-stop connection from three U.S. hubs to Iceland’s stunning landscapes, hot springs and much more.
Delta will launch new daily services from Boston Logan International Airport to Keflavik International Airport starting May 20 and will resume daily service from John F. Kennedy International Airport May 1, as well as daily service from Minneapolis-Saint Paul International Airport May 27.
“We know our customers are eager to safely get back out into the world, including exploring one of the globe’s most beautiful outdoor destinations,” said Joe Esposito, senior vice president, Network Planning, Delta Air Lines. “As confidence in travel rises, we hope more countries continue reopening to vaccinated travelers, which mean more opportunities to reconnect customers to the people and places that matter most.”
Customers traveling to Iceland will be required to provide proof of being fully vaccinated or having recovered from COVID-19. Once travelers return to the United States, they will still be required to show a negative COVID-19 test.
