Delta Air Lines is happy to welcome travelers back while implementing extra precautions to ensure a safe, clean environment for passengers. After listening to customers’ main concerns about returning to flying, Delta Air Lines came up with layers of protection.

Delta aircraft interiors are sanitized before all flights, as customers state cleanliness is the most important factor when returning to travel. Delta Air Lines is using a high-grade electrostatic spray that clings to surfaces and kills viruses on contact, and wiping down high-touch surfaces.

Throughout Delta’s airport space, guests will never be more than a few steps away from a hand sanitizing station. Delta also will provide customers with sanitizing wipes or gel packs upon boarding, and as part of snack bag service onboard.

Delta is also providing spacing markers to easily determine a safe distance from others in the area. The airline will board customers 10 at a time, starting at the back of the plane, to reduce people in the aisle.

Face masks are required for everyone, customers and employees. Medical experts advised wearing a mask is one of the most important ways customers and employees can help prevent the spread of the virus.

Delta is limiting the amount of guests onboard — 60 percent capacity in the main cabin, 50 percent in first class and all middle seats are unavailable. This rule is in place through Sept. 30 at which point it will be re-evaluated.
