Choice Hotels International recently announced its partnership with Ctrip, China’s larger online travel site, which allows the franchise to further expand its reach in the burgeoning inbound Chinese travel market.
The partnership enables Choice Hotels to be promoted on Ctrip, and the company will also be introducing a series of Chinese-friendly amenities at select Comfort Inn and Comfort Suites hotels. The services will include green tea in the lobby and with breakfast, complimentary slippers offered at check-in and select hotels will also now accept China UnionPay.
“China is, and will continue to be, a major market for inbound tourism in the next few years, and Choice is dedicated to anticipating the needs of guests traveling from abroad by ensuring they have the amenities they desire and expect. With properties located near iconic U.S. landmarks and major cities and amenities such as free WiFi, Comfort Inn and Comfort Suites are great hotels for Chinese travelers exploring the U.S.,” said Robert McDowell, chief commercial officer, Choice Hotels International. “Furthermore, our global partnership with Ctrip will expand Choice Hotels’ reach into the growing Chinese tourism market.”
The new amenities for Chinese travelers are the latest of a series of enhancements to the Comfort Inn and Comfort Suites brands, which includes a new smoke-free policy, healthier breakfast options and a $40 million brand property improvement project.
