Cheyenne, capital of Wyoming, has been without passenger airline services since March, when the last airline servicing the town dropped its flights. But the capital is getting new flights to coincide with a new terminal opening.
American Airlines is starting a once a day service between Cheyenne (CYS) and its hub at Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport, via regional affiliate SkyWest Airlines, Nov. 4.
The flight will use a 50-seat Bombardier CRJ200 regional jet, leaving Texas at 9:10 a.m. CT, and arriving in Cheyenne at 10:10 a.m. MT. The return flight will leave Wyoming at 10:35 a.m. MT and land back in Dallas at 1:35 p.m. CT.
American Airlines’ regional brand, American Eagle, stopped flying between Cheyenne and Dallas in 2012 due to bankruptcy.
“American Airlines looks forward to beginning this new service,” the airline’s corporate communications specialist Nichelle Tait said.
At the same time, Cheyenne Regional Airport will open its new 26,000-square-foot terminal.
