Cathay Pacific announced four additional non-stop flights between San Francisco (SFO) and Hong Kong (HKG). With the new routes, the airline will offer more non-stop flights between the two destinations than any other airline.

The new Airbus A350-900 will service the flights, featuring a refreshed business-class cabin as well as new premium-economy and economy-class seats. This will be the airline’s first A350 deployed in the United States and the second in North America.

Beginning Oct. 29, flights between San Francisco and Hong Kong will expand from a three-times-weekly service to a daily service, bringing the total number of flights between the destinations to three per day.

The new flight will depart daily at 00:55, arriving in Hong Kong the following day at 8:05. The early arrival allows passengers to connect with Cathay Pacific flights across Asia. The return flight will depart Hong Kong at 17:55 on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday, arriving in San Francisco at 13:55 on the same day and 18:45 on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday.

Not only is it the quietest among the aircraft types in its class, but it is also 25 per cent more fuel efficient with a corresponding reduction in emissions,” said Phillippe Lacamp, senior vice president, Americas, Cathay Pacific.
