After significant renovations, Cathay Pacific Airways reopened The Pier First Class Lounge on June 19. The lounge is located at Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA), Gate 63 in the North West concourse. The lounge seats 231 passengers and was designed with simplicity and contemporary Asian values in mind.

The lounge’s new design was created by Studioilse, based out of London, and incorporates modern apartment-living elements, which can be seen through the various material, furnishing and lighting choices. Guests will see this design philosophy in the lounge’s music and food as well. Green onyx, bronze, walnut and a variety of plant life all contribute to the touches of contemporary Asian style.

The Pier’s redesign also takes passengers’ physical wellbeing into consideration, now offering complimentary massages for the neck, shoulders and feet. Showers featuring natural limestone and timber provide a retreat before boarding. Relaxation suites are also available, equipped with daybeds and adjustable lighting.

The lounge is the first of Cathay Pacific’s lounges to incorporate the airline’s signature scent, which again reflects the overall design’s Asian simplicity. Notes of bamboo, green tea and jasmine create a relaxing and warm environment to make passengers feel at ease and at home.

The Pier First Class Lounge is currently open to First Class passengers, Diamond Marco Polo Club members and Emerald oneworld members.
