There’s more than one way to fly at Munich Airport. In Terminal 2, Sportalm restaurant has an Alpine décor and seating in an actual ski gondola. Though firmly mounted on the airport’s floor, the gondola evokes the peaked and sloped topography of a ski getaway, with a rustic, Bavarian farmhouse vibe that includes a wooden barn door, a stone trough, real tree trunks and traditional knickknacks.
On the restaurant’s lower level, there’s a sports bar with beer selections and large-scale televisions so travelers can keep track of the latest scores from their favorite teams. The menu includes pasta selections, salads and kaiserschmarrn, a delicious shredded pancake. Eat in, take out or relax with a beverage on the sun terrace before your flight.
