Business travel requires a certain element of efficiency and luxury so business travelers can accomplish important tasks, attend important meetings and leave their temporary work relocation with a calm sense of satisfaction. Most modern hotels that welcome business travelers are prepared to handle the needs of this particular kind of guest, from business centers to private transfer services to and from meetings and airports. But according to a recent survey, the most important ingredient for those who travel for work is a strong and steady WiFi connection.
A survey conducted by the Global Business Travel Association asked business travelers what feature would motivate them to book a hotel room directly on the hotel´s website, without going through a third party like a travel agent. Nearly 70 percent of responders mentioned free high-speed internet access was their absolute must-have amenity. Those who were surveyed also indicated the important of USB outlets, power outlets, spare chargers in guestrooms and keyless or mobile room keys.
The study also showed approximately 55 percent of respondents spent at least one hour per day using the provided internet for work purposes. Hotels are taking note of these research findings and are seeking ways to upgrade their current facilities, some of which may include using a mobile app to check in, request room service and reserve a rental car.
